50% of App Store Games Make Less Than $3000

So if you’ve got an amazing game idea, don’t quit the day job just yet. The figures break down something like:
- 25% Make less than $300
- 25% Make Between $300 and $3000
- 25% Make Over $10,000
Still, it’s ok being at the top, as the top 20% of the top selling apps developers make 97% of the income.

The app store is not a world paved with gold – there is gold to be found there, but its a struggle to find it. With 300+ apps being released per day, you have to be both a stand-out app and have strong marketing to get noticed.
